"THE TRUE WORK OF ART IS THE SHADOW OF DIVINE PERFECTION " - MICHELANGELO
Our epics teach us the path to the divine through Bhakthi. Artist Appam Raghava from Amangal
brings the "Bhakthi Bhava" to his canvas in subtle expression yet in a strong color palette. He said,
"An attempt is being made to study Hanuman & Ravana, whose characteristics are totally different
to each other but from the perspective of "BHAKTHI" they share a common ground! By purifying the
thinker of all his latent tendencies, it enables him to join the Divine in His own dwelling."
Hanuman, the one who undoubtedly possesses a stupendous personality, is but a servant in front of
his Lord - Sri Rama. In his one-pointed devotion
to Sri Rama, he is the perfect manifestation of Dasya Bhakti and Padasevana. Appam Raghava often
displays the lessons learned from the epics to attain salvation through Hanuman's Dasya Bhakti.
Artists' rendition of Hanuman's love for Rama is a perfect personification of his mastery of visual
representation. There is a spiritual element in his artworks that clearly comes from the artist's
imagination and faith. In this divine vision of the artist, there are endless beautiful forms of divinity
touching simple details of everyday life surrounded by great moral quandaries of human existence.
This might be described as the discovery of a divine presence in oneself, the discovery of something
deeply human that invokes the divine, and its establishment as a popular tenet
